With the Stage 2 modifications, the engine reaches 460 horsepower. To achieve this result, a larger engine cooler and a sports air intake system must be fitted, but the exhaust system remains original. A larger crankshaft pulley is also required, which increases the pressure in the compressor.
To reach 500 horsepower (Stage 3), the following additional modifications are made: a larger diameter pipe is fitted to the exhaust manifold (downpipe) and the original compressor-mounted pulley is replaced by a smaller one. The high-pressure and fuel tank pumps are also replaced to ensure that the engine is supplied with the correct amount of fuel. Please note that higher octane fuel is required to achieve 500 horsepower. StartLine Motors recommends a 40% ethanol blend.
The final step up for the 3.0-litre TFSI engine is 540 horsepower. This can be achieved by modifying the air intake system with a larger throttle body and enlarged air compressor passages. These are the modifications we have made to one of the world's fastest Audi S4s, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and covers the quarter mile in 10.81 seconds.
